GENESIS
- The services of Shri V. Balasubramaniam, a Karnataka Cadre IAS officer, has been phenomenal in the growth of sericulture, both as Commissioner of Sericulture, Govt. of Karnataka & Member Secretary, CSB.
- His services for development of sericulture continued even after his retirement from Government service, as President of Silk Association of India, a voluntary organization of sericulture sector stakeholders.
- In the backdrop of Government priority coming down for sectors like sericulture, it was he who laid the emphasis on the formation of a company of sericulture sector stakeholders with a purpose to take care of varied requirements of sericulture sector.
ABOUT US
Soil to Silk Stakeholders Pvt. Ltd. is the brainchild of Silk Association of India (a voluntary organization of stakeholders of the sericulture sector) Initially, the formation of the company was based on the need to take up production and supply of basic silkworm seeds required for production of commercial silkworm seed through a company established by sericulture sector stakeholders. The company was registered on 01-01-2024 with four founding Directors. The main objective of the company is to carry out viable commercial activities across different segments of silk sector.
We are proud to highlight that, Soil to Silk Stakeholders Pvt. Ltd, Bengaluru the entity to undertake to operations, enjoys the technical support of veteran scientists and Stake holders of all sectors of sericulture industry, who had previously held key positions in production process at different organisations and contributed significantly to the establishment of an infallible system of the industry.

OBJECTIVES
 | To carry on the business of raising mulberry nursery, mulberry cultivation, silkworm basic seed and commercial seed crop rearing, silkworm basic seed and commercial seed production, chawki silkworm rearing, adult silkworm rearing to produce reeling cocoons and silk reeling, to produce raw silk and silk waste, silk fabric, machinery, manufacturing/production of equipment and disinfectants including establishing required testing, grading and quality control laboratories |
| | To carry on the business to cultivate, produce, harvest, raise or deal in any land-based produce as and to set up processing unit for import, export and distribution or deal in agricultural/horticulture produce of all description. |
| | To establish, develop and maintain basic silkworm seed farms, select Adopted Seed Rearers (ASRs) for the generation of quality parental seed cocoons (P2 and P1 level). |
| | To procure P3, P2, P1 and FC1/ FC2 disease free layings (dfls) from Central Silk Board or State Government grainages, incubate and sell them to ASRs/ basic seed farms for conducting seed crop rearing and generating quality parental seed cocoons. |
| | To establish, develop and maintain basic silkworm seed farms, select Adopted Seed Rearers (ASRs) for the generation of quality parental seed cocoons (P2 and P1 level). |
| | To procure P3, P2, P1 and FC1/ FC2 disease free layings (dfls) from Central Silk Board or State Government grainages, incubate and sell them to ASRs/ basic seed farms for conducting seed crop rearing and generating quality parental seed cocoons. |
| | To prepare and process quality basic seed (P2, P1, FC1/FC2 dfls) and sell them to the ASRs/RSPs/Basic seed farms for further multiplication. |
| | To export and import quality Cross Breed (CB), Improved Cross Breed (ICB), bivoltine single and double hybrid Dfls after following mandatory quarantine regulations. |
